Programming in the mid-future

Reading Bruce Eckels thoughts on the future of computer programming made me think of a ‘teaser’ made by Anders Hejlsberg at a presentation when discussing the historic evolution of programming. It goes something like this:

This is what Hello World looks like in c#:

static void Main(string[] args)
{
Console.WriteLine("Hello world");
}

Do you remember what it looked like in Turbo Pascal? If you don’t, it would be something like this:

begin
WriteLn('Hello World');
end.

Any similarities😉 Obviously Hejlsberg made a lot of good points about this, and a lot has happened the last 25 years, but this example still really amuses me😀
